I'm Kyle McKiernan, currently a junior at Elizabethtown College, pursuing a Major in Business Administration and a Minor in Marketing. Volleyball has been my passion since I first picked up the sport in 7th grade at Eyer Middle School. Over the years, I've honed my skills playing for various club teams, including East Coast Power, Club Lehigh, and Velocity, before graduating from Emmaus High School in 2021.

My time at Emmaus High School was incredibly rewarding, filled with memorable victories, including league and district gold medals, as well as reaching the Elite 8 in the PIAA state tournament during my senior year. I was fortunate to receive numerous accolades, such as 1st team All-League, All-Area, and All-State, along with being named Lehigh Valley Live Player of the Year.

Now, as a member of the Etown Men’s Volleyball team, I continue to pursue excellence on the court. Over the past two years, I've accumulated over 250 kills and look forward to contributing even more in the coming seasons. Beyond personal achievements, what truly drives me is the opportunity to share my love for volleyball and impart my skills to younger athletes. It's a privilege to give back to the sport that has given me so much joy and fulfillment.

Gannon DeFrain:

Valley Volleyball proudly introduces Gannon DeFrain, our newest setter coach this summer! Gannon will only focus on training with setters this summer.

Gannon's volleyball journey began in 7th grade and has since been marked by impressive accomplishments. Graduating Emmaus High School, Gannon's tenure as the starting varsity setter in his sophomore year led the Hornets to notable successes in the EPC Semifinals and District Quarterfinals.

However, during his senior year at Emmaus, Gannon truly shone, guiding his team to clinch the EPC Championship and District Runner-up titles while making a memorable run in the state championships. His exceptional leadership on the court earned him recognition on the EPC First Team, Morning Call’s First Team, and the esteemed Player's Player Award for the Hornets.

Transitioning to Misericordia University, Gannon's stellar performance continued, with over 1,000 assists amassed by his third year and recognition on the MAC Second Team. Notably, he played a pivotal role in elevating the Cougars to their best-ever season, culminating in a spot in this year’s MAC Championship game.

With Gannon's arrival, Valley Volleyball gains more than just a skilled player; we welcome a passionate individual deeply committed to the sport. Gannon is eager to share his wealth of experience and love for volleyball to help nurture the next generation of setters.
